Meet your instructor

Hi, I’m Justin.

My flying started in the Navy, where I served as aircrew in the F/A-18 and F-16 — over 900 hours of special crew time running missions from the back seat. These days I fly on the civilian side and I teach, and I started Schleeble Aviation to do flight instruction the way I think it should be done: one student at a time.

In the military I learned to fly to a standard: brief the mission, fly it, then debrief honestly and fix what wasn’t right. That discipline — preparation, sound decision-making, and a calm, methodical cockpit — is the same standard I hold myself to as an instructor, and the one I’ll teach you.

I care more about building a safe, confident, capable pilot than rushing you to a checkride. We’ll focus on strong fundamentals, real aeronautical decision-making, and a realistic plan for your time and budget. Because I take a small roster, you fly with the same instructor every lesson and your progress actually gets my attention.

I’m based at Livermore Municipal Airport (KLVK) and coordinate aircraft through XL Aviation. If you have your own aircraft or prefer another Bay Area field, let’s talk about what works.

Aviation is a family thing

Flying has been part of my life for a long time, and passing it on is part of why I instruct. Whether you’re chasing a lifelong dream or starting a new career, I’d be glad to help you get there.
